Last Night ...

... Jamie turned to me and asked "So, how was your day?"

"Good" I replied.

"And the kid? How'd he do?"

"Pretty good. He fussed a bit when we were leaving the park, but thats about it. Oooo! And speaking of the park .... I am so not going to the toddler one anymore".

"Why not?" Jamie asked.

"Because you know all that construction on the roads?" Jamie nods, and happy that we're on the same wave-length I eagerly continue "Well, its just getting ridiculous. I mean, I was going to walk to the park the usual way, you know? Like on the left side of the street? But I knew it had all those barriers up so I figured I'd try the right side."

A slow smile had begun to creep across Jamie's face. Slightly confused, I continued. "And you wouldn't believe it but they'd put barriers up there too! So I was like "Forget this, I'm going to just go to the closer park down by the pond" and then ..... seriously, wtf are you smiling about?" I finally asked.

Jamie started laughing. "I just can't believe that you're honestly telling me a story about the route you took to the park today. I'm mean, holy crap ... I'm on the edge of my seat here, Andra! Tell me more!"

And then it hit me .... yet another "What the hell has happened to my life?" moments, just like the day before. Seriously. THIS is what my life's come to? Telling a disgruntled park-route story to my husband in bed? At least I can laugh about it. And thankfully, so can Jamie.

Hmmm ... maybe going back to work in August isn't such a bad idea afterall .... at the very least it'll up the cool-quotient of my posts.

Oh, and here's Mace enjoying his time at the pond-park (not the toddler park where you have to weave in-and-out of construction. That place is bunk).

  2. Love it! I was complaining to my Hubs about how dirty the stroller got going to the pond-park the the other day! We'll have to co-ordinate one of these days and commisserate while the boys swing and eat rocks :)

  3. Just so you don't feel alone, I had the same moment walking to the park with Brennan and he was on his bike. As I was reading your post I was actually really interested as to how you got there!! So that includes me in your "what the hell has happened to my life?" I guess. FYI, I cut through the path in the field and get there with ease now ;) Shar

  4. I just found your blog ....
OMG, I am sitting here with some wine in hand (the one perk to formula feeding :(), and DYING laughing ... Hubs thinks I am insane; but I so can relate to so many things already! Most of our evening dinner conversations are about the jerk who parked too close to the car so I can't get Em's carseat in the door .... LOL
    TAKE CARE!!!

  6. Hi! Found you through the mombshelter blog and wanted to say hello :)

I can totally relate - and would love to go back to work (at least part time), but I have a 2 year old and 10 month old twins...and from a financial standpoint it doesn't make sense for me to go back to work. Sigh.

But I have a hard time talking to anyone about anything other than kid stuff - it sucks!
